Here is the second painting I did thinking I would submit to a juried show where all paintings had to be 6x6. It is a challenge for me trying to keep all the values so close to give the effect of a snowy gray day. So typical in my neighborhood to have only one set of tracks down the street but I must have been in my car as there aren't any traffic lights where I normally walk the dog.

I have reflected on this painting for a long time, opening and re-opening the file to view it again and again. I find it hard to verbalize its effect on me, but I will try to express what I sense here.
It is a mysterious work. I am amazed that you were able to create shape, image, and even reflection without using any notable major light source and without more than bare suggestions of color.
I can look at its greyness, and my mind wants to create colors and shades that aren't really there; like looking at ghosts who at once appear solidly real, then disintegrate into vapor. That is exactly what it's like driving in heavy snow; you can never be very secure that you are seeing what you think is out there.
I can identify with its bleakness, having lived under the grey skies of Central Germany so long and having endured rare seasons of bleakness within. I am drawn in to its delicacy and repulsed by its unfriendly cold, both at the same time.
I'm not jumping for the thrill of it; but it affects me deeply, that is certain. You are a genius, even at this scale. Thanks for sharing your gifts. LNB
I am amazed at what you were able to capture in a 6 x 6 space. It even projects the silence of a still, snowy day. Have you thought about doing this painting on a larger canvas?
I have not thought about doing this piece larger, but thanks for the suggestion.
